Andretta is a village and an artists’ colony near Palampur in the Kangra District which came into being in 1920, when Irish theatre artiste and environmentalist, Norah Richards shifted here from Lahore. Come and visit Norah Richards center for arts which hopes to encourage artists, musicians, dancers and writers to come and spend time, hold workshops and interact adding to Andretta’s cultural heritage. Other places include Shobha Singh’s Art Gallery which showcases the work by the famous painter of Sikh Gurus. The traditional Kangra style mud house , known as ‘Chameli Niwas’ built using mud, slate and bamboo where Norah lived can also be visited.
Andretta pottery and craft society is run by Mansimran ‘Mini’ singh, son of famous potter Gurcharan Singh (who started Delhi Blue Pottery) is one of its only kind . It is a pottery production centre and also offers 3 months course in pottery for passionate students, a golden opportunity to study pottery making and designing.
